The Kompetenz Zentrum Interkulturelle Öffnung der Altenhilfe, kom•zen for short, is a centre in Berlin focussing on intercultural openness to support senior citizens, making care and support accessible for all elderly people.
kom•zen acts on behalf of the Senatsverwaltung für Gesundheit und Soziales (Senate Administration for Health and Social Care) for the Berlin district and has the backing of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt Berlin Spree-Wuhle e.V. (workers’ welfare association) and the Caritasverband für das Erzbistum Berlin e.V. (German Caritas association for the archdiocese of Berlin).
In order to support the inclusion (Inklusion) of elderly immigrants from the migrant community (Migrationsgesellschaft), kom•zen works with various parties involved in migration, administration and politics, as well as with social, care and health workers, and brings them all together.
Our website offers specialist information (Fachinformationen) for you to download and directs you to other parties in our network (Netzwerk), which are involved in working with the elderly, migration and care. Under media (Medien), you can also find filmed documentation of our work, as well as reading material (Literaturhinweise).
